What Steven Soderbergh Begged Apple to Change About the iPhone
ââI donât want to wait on the tool, the tool should wait on me,ââ said Soderbergh, quoting Orson Welles. âI get very frustrated when it takes a long time to execute it. Like, as soon as I feel it, I want to shoot it. And so, thatâs one of the biggest benefits of this method â the time from the idea to seeing an iteration of it is incredibly short, like, a minute, like, maybe less. For me, the energy that that creates on set, and I think on screen, is huge.â Read more about why Soderbergh decided to be more undergrad student filmmaker than an Oscar-winning director with 30 features under his belt.
Hereâs an additional interview with Soderbergh about his evolution as a filmmaker with the iPhone.

Tweet me and let me know what you think about Netflix pouring money into bigger names for their content.

Salke said the âdirect-to-service strategy is happeningâ in other areas, as well. She cited a deal made with Jason Blum to release eight films direct-to-service, as well as films produced by Nicole Kidman as possible options to go straight to Prime Video.

Love this from the Atlanta Braves. Walter has worked with the team for 54 years and theyâve connected the offline honor with a great visual tribute in under 1-minute. Nicely done. (click the tweet to see the video)
I enjoyed this spot from my friend Jeremiah for Orro. Heâs been producing solid brand work, check him out. A good balance of cinematic but still commercial. Check out more of his work here.
This film features the trials, learnings and victories of the four generation Breitkreutz family from Stoney Creek Farm transitioning from conventional farming to regenerative agriculture in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. Using conventional methods they saw their soils degrade and their input costs rise every year. Transitioning to regenerative practices has helped their row cropping operation and significantly reduced their input cost for their cattle. This film tells the story of how they did it.
